Mark was a friendly, outgoing fun-loving young man who went out of his way to help others. He was gentle, caring, and especially good with children. He loved being with his family and his buddies and remained in close contact with his teammates from his many, many baseball and basketball teams, from t-ball to rec league to C team, to JV, to Varsity.
An athlete, Mark’s life revolved around sports—playing, watching, and talking. He loved the Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves and enjoyed nothing more than game days. Between seasons, he kept busy with basketball, baseball, and football video games and was a dynamo on the family Sea Doo.
Mark took his life on February 23, 2015. His death was unexpected and unbelievable. He had a good job, was enrolled in college, and many friends. There were no warning signs, no hints, no reasons to worry. The reminders of his life either make us as his family smile, laugh, or burst into tears. We draw strength from these words, though we do not know the author, “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
