Please consider sponsoring one or more walkers in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Upstate Out of the Darkness Community Walk scheduled for Fall 2019. Each sponsorship is $200 and includes a Making My Mark team t-shirt and a Suicide Prevention Awareness Toolkit. Additional Upstate Out Of the Darkness Community Walk information is available here.
Often students reach out for support there is no one to answer the persons call. You can sponsor a donation to the Suicide Prevention Hotline so that one less call for help goes unanswered. Designated donations are accepted in any amount.
Teachers can encourage students to sponsor a Making My Mark recipient. For each $50 donation, Making My Mark sends a young person, anywhere in the country, who may be considering suicide, a gift to let them know that there are people who care about them. We include a hand written inspirational note that could be written by the class students and a referral to the Suicide Prevention Hotline for follow up. Students can also request that a Making My Mark package be sent to a struggling peer.
Each $50 donation allows Making My Mark volunteers to send out a Making My Mark package, inspiring others to always keep fighting and to never give up hope.
